Biogas desulphurization

Biogas beside methane and carbon dioxide contains hydrogen sulphide gas (H2S), which with contact with water produces sulphuric acid (H2SO4). Both acids are corrosive, and therefore harmful for metal surfaces, machine parts, including gas engines.
To remove or decrease the concentration of hydrogen sulphide there are various chemical & physical methods, based on adsorption (as active carbon filter), absorption with reaction (caustic soda solution), which have both pros and cons.
But the most economic in terms of operational expenses is biological desulphurization, using sulfur-reducing bacteria in bio-scrubber system.
Fine Green Engineering possesses the knowledge and practical experience in design and construction of the complete bio-scrubber systems (including detail column design, piping, and control system), as well as the inoculation of sulphur-reducing bacteria and the process control of the bio-scrubber system.
If you need a simple, robost, and low opex desulphurization system for your biogas plant, do not hesitate to contact us for further details.
We can help you also with check-up, retro-fitting and efficiency recovery of existing biological scrubbers.
